Deaconess Foundation

The Deaconess Foundation is committed to helping the most disadvantaged residents of Cuyahoga County, OH, prepare for, obtain, and maintain employment.

The Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations that help individuals both enter into and advance along a career pathway to a family-sustaining wage, and that strengthen the workforce development system to benefit people in need.

The Foundation also values being a collaborative partner in philanthropic efforts that strengthen the human services sector in Cuyahoga County. The Foundation seeks to lead or participate in efforts that offer:

  • the potential to strengthen multiple human service organizations or the environments in which they function;
  • the opportunity for impact beyond what can be achieved with limited resources; and,
  • the possibility of systems impact.

Types of support include:

  • program support;
  • general operating support; and,
  • capital support.
